During Women’s History Month, we reflect on and revere the achievements, contributions, and resilience of women that helped pave a path for us. We use this month to also celebrate the progress made (PANTS!) and look for ways to further foster equality and equity in the future.
It's important in times of cultural change that we leaders be clear about our values. In that spirit, this post aims to share Kipsu's position on what the word meritocracy means and what our team members, applicants, customers, users and shareholders can expect of us.
Cara Sego, our Product Director, has worn many hats at Kipsu! Cara started at Kipsu shortly after graduating from college, and was able to not only build her career path, but was able to help build our Product Development team and company over the years. We sat down with Cara to learn more about her career journey finding the best-fit hat for her.

With the sound of ornaments being packed away, trees tugged through the door, and the final baked goods munched, the Holiday Season comes to a close. For many, this sparks a new season of reflection and goal setting as the phrase “New year, new me” is tossed around. Kipsu focuses deeply on goals during work hours and is filled with many motivated, intentional individuals. This ignited my curiosity on what resolutions Kipsuvians set outside of work for 2019, and what “new self” people here are striving towards.

This Fall marked the inaugural season of our soccer team, KipsUnited F.C. KipsUnited was started by Jaime Hasama, a member of our Customer Partnership team and it has been a great way for Kipsu team members to get to know each other outside of the office.

Meet Rachel Hain, world traveler and lover of Costco. Rachel graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a double major in Communication Studies and Anthropology. She enjoys teaching gymnastics, going for runs, and good podcasts. Rachel was a part of Kipsu's first Rotation Program, and was placed on the Customer Success Team after the program ended! Meet Connor Valenti, master of board games and politics nerd. Connor Valenti graduated from Macalester College with a major in Computer Science and minor in Political Science. He enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and volleyball and spending time with friends. Connor was a part of Kipsu's first Rotation Program, and was placed on the Engineering Team after the program ended! Meet Cara Christiansen, lover of cats and trees. Cara graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a major in Computer Science. She enjoys playing her trumpet, walking on ledges, and eating ice cream. Cara was a part of Kipsu's first Rotation Program and actually created a new role at Kipsu, Product Analyst, for her placement after the program! Many students see their college graduation as an opportunity to retire their classroom learning, find a job that pays the bills, and settle into “Adulting.” Cara Christiansen celebrated her graduation from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota in 2017, but she was far from ready to settle in. Her story was only beginning. She was curious and hungry for more knowledge.

Every quarter, Kipsu spends a day volunteering in order to give back to the community. This quarter, we decided to volunteer at Second Harvest Heartland, which is one of the nation’s largest hunger relief organizations.
