Before joining Kipsu, I was a Talent Acquisition Specialist for Bind Benefits based in Minneapolis. Bind was a healthcare start-up that delivered On-Demand health insurance that could be personalized to the users needs. Our team recruited across the 5 pillars of Bind to bring in top talent for our growing company. I specialized in the IT and Sales pillars while also co-leading our Summer Internship Program.
I am a MN sports fanatic and enjoy staying active as much as possible. During the summer months you can find me on the baseball field as I coach for Macalester College and play amateur for the Minnetonka Millers. When not on the baseball field, Lake Minnetonka is my second home. I enjoy water sports especially jet skiing through the different channels and viewing the spectacular homes.
My previous job at Bind was my first introduction to the start-up world and all that comes with the fast paced nature of today's business needs. Throughout each step of the interview process, leadership was up front about what problems needed to be solved in recruiting and having plan of attack of how we could accomplish the goals at hand. Being able to meet on site with the team set Kipsu far apart from all other opportunities I had.
Location can't be beat! Honestly for me it was the thoughtfulness of leadership and it started well before my first week. I was invited to a team happy hour and felt welcomed with open arms. It is rare that one can feel like part of the team from the very beginning but Kipsu seriously knocked this out of the park for me.
Getting engineering talent to say yes to Kipsu! Capable software engineers have a wealth of opportunity in their hands, as they can pick and choose where they go next. The challenge will be to source, connect, sell, and deliver them to our growing team.
Go Beyond Together. Being a former athlete and current coach I know first hand how much can be accomplished by a team focused on achieving a common goal. I am of the mindset that more can be done as a team rather than individually, and we can build up team members along the way.
Martin Luther King Jr. - He provided strength for the African-American population during one of the most turbulent times in American history. I admired his approach of preaching for non-violent resistance and not letting our differences define our attitudes. I would love to hear his thoughts on the world today.
